It is not always easy to find the money you need for college. It is nice to know there are funds like the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to help people with a Hispanic heritage to go to college and beyond. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can be awarded between $1,000 and $5,000. Scholarships are available for those who are at any level of education in college.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to qualify for the scholarship, you will have to meet certain requirements including:
- Hispanic Background
- Applied for Financial Aid
- GPA minimum of 3.0
- Enrolled with Full Time Status
- Us Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
Additionally, this should be your first undergraduate or graduate degree you have pursued. If you meet all of the requirements, you will be able to apply for the scholarship.

What the Scholarship Can be Used for

The purpose of the scholarship is to help defray the cost of tuition and housing. The scholarship can be used directly for those needs. It is not intended to be used in order to help pay for groceries or living expenses which are considered to be excessive. This is a scholarship intended for those who will live at home or on campus.

The scholarship is very competitive, so make sure you apply early. The deadline for the scholarship is in December and applications are accepted starting in September. Selections are made in June after a five month deliberation. It is intended solely for those looking to obtain a college degree.
