How to Impress the Board

Because you are looking to go to school for a computer related degree, it is a good idea to tell the board in your application about your experience with computers. You should then go on to tell about how you are hoping to impact the world of computers with the right education. Make sure to cite specific industry moguls which have served as your inspiration over the years. You do not need to mention HP execs unless they are actually on your radar. Be passionate in your essay.

Looking Ahead

When talking about how being included in the scholar program will benefit you it is a good idea to talk about how the program will help you to fulfill your desire to work in the computer industry. You may want to talk about how the internship will help you to establish the connections which are invaluable.

You should also mention how you look forward to working closely with the mentors in the program to learn how to effectively apply yourself when looking for a job, building a resume and sitting down for interviews. Give the board every reason to choose you.
