There are few people more respected in the professional world as those who can claim status as a Rhodes Scholar. This is an achievement which is worthy of note because only 80 students throughout the entire world will have the privilege of being able to say they are a Rhodes Scholar. Only 32 of these will come from the United States. This achievement will not only help you to get a great education, but will be the first step in a very successful career.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to qualify for the American Rhodes Scholarship you will have to be a U.S. citizen at the time of your application. You will also have to fall within the age ranges of 18 to 24 as of October 1, 2010. You will also have to be in good academic standing to prove you will be able to finish at least a Bachelor’s degree.

What the Scholarship Covers

The base of the scholarship will cover tuition and academic expenses involves with going to school for two years at Oxford University. This includes the cost of flying you to the college and back home during breaks and for the school period.

For those who perform well. You will have the ability to extend the scholarship for at least another year. You will also be able to get money for lab fees and other expenses which will be associated with your ability to finish your degree.
