Journalism is alive and well in the world and people depend on those who work in the field to bring them the information that they need to keep up with everything going on in the world. This is why so many people would like to work in the demanding, yet fulfilling industry. With the right scholarship, you will be able to get the education you will need in order to get started in this industry.
Requirements
In order to get the scholarship you will need to have at least a 3.0 GPA. You will also need to have been involved in a high school journalism program for at least two years. The scholarship is only open to those students looking to get started in a journalism field by studying either journalism or mass communications. You will have to submit a portfolio in addition to being a student of a JEA member adviser and winner of the Journalist of the year award. All applications must be received by February 15th, 2011.
Award Amount
If you are the winner of the scholarship you will be able to get $5,000. There will also be four runners up who will receive $2,000 scholarships.
